Start Smart Classes: Required for 2017-18
Upcoming classes: June 6, 2017; August 14, 2017; August 30, 2017 (we will not be ticketing the first 2 weeks of school); and June 5, 2018.
SDUHSD requires that every high school student who parks in the LCC parking lot must have completed the CHP "Start Smart" course with a parent or legal guardian. Students must have a parent or guardian present for the entire class.
Please RSVP to firstname.lastname@example.org. For additional information about "Start Smart" please access the CHP website or call Nancy Logan, from San Dieguito Alliance, at (760) 310-5310.
Students and their parent/guardian will only have to complete the course one time in their high school career. The Start Smart course is free.
If your student plans on applying for a parking permit in the future and has not taken a Start Smart class, please make plans to attend a class soon.
The California Highway Patrol provides "Start Smart" driving safety classes at LCCHS for all current and future student drivers. A student is not required to have a driver’s license to take the class. All classes are 6:30 - 8:15 p.m. in the theater. A parent or guardian must accompany the student who is attending the event and remain for the duration of the class.
Start Smart Classes are offered throughout SDUHSD schools. A student may attend the Start Smart Class at any of the four SDUHSD schools and fulfill the requirement. Click here for more information.
