For more information please see the receptionist in the administrative building.

Parking Rules and Regulations:
  • Students may not loiter in cars or the parking lot at break, lunch, or during instructional time.
  • Vehicles parked on campus are subject to search.
  • Neither SDUHSD nor LCC is responsible for any damage or loss to vehicles or personal property.
  • Students must park in areas clearly identified as "Student Parking".  Students are not allowed to park in marked RED, STAFF, or VISITORS/RESERVED.
  • Obtaining a parking permit DOES NOT guarantee a parking space. Parking is available on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • Parking permits are not transferable between vehicles. A parking sticker must be affixed to the driver's side windshield.
  • The maximum speed limit on school property is 15 MPH.
  • Students who don't have a valid permit and park on campus will be ticketed.
  • Vehicles parked illegally may be towed at the owner's expense.
  • Violation of the above parking regulations may result in a parking citation.
  • Any student who receives more than one citation will meet with administration after the second citation and parents will be contacted.
  • If students continue to receive citations after meeting with administration and parent contact, students may receive progressive disciplinary action including the possibility of losing parking privileges in the student lot and/or suspension.
  • Only 11th and 12th grade students may obtain a partking permit due to parking lot space and safety. Sophomores must park off campus.

Electric Vehicles (EV’s) Policy:
Through our most recent project with the San Dieguito Union High School District and San Diego Gas & Electric, our school site La Costa Canyon High School has been given 15 new EV charging stations for us to utilize in our Staff/Student parking lot. Because of this recent addition, we will be implementing the following procedures:
  • EV Charging Stations are for the use of Staff, Students or Visitors
  • Only EV vehicles are allowed to utilize the EV Charging Stations
  • As a reminder, there is a cost for using the Charging Station. Please go on to the following link to gather more information. Click HERE to access the Chargepoint website
  • Click HERE for SDGE instructions for setting up a charge account.
We look forward to expanded opportunities and future collaboration with our partners in our school more eco-friendly

Temporary Day Parking Pass (Only for Students w/ Valid Parking Permits):
A day parking pass is available for students with valid parking permits who need to temporarily drive a non-permitted vehicle to school.  Students must obtain the day parking pass in the administration building and display it in their alternate vehicle. Otherwise, the non-permitted vehicle will be subject to a parking citation.

Start Smart class required for parking permit

Start Smart class required for parking permit

Start Smart Driving is an SDUHSD required driver safety education class.  It is offered as a response to the numerous teen car crashes and related fatalities in our community.   All San Dieguito Union High School District students and their parents/guardians must attend a 2-hour Start Smart class to obtain a parking permit to park on their school campus.  Officers from the California Highway Patrol will discuss traffic avoidance techniques, collision-causing factors, driver/parent responsibilities, seat belt usage, dangers of driving under the influence, and many important safety tips.   Parents are required to remain in the class with their students for the entire 2 hours. Students must attend the class with their parents/guardians.  Attending with a friend's parent does not qualify as credit for the class.

The class is free of charge.  Classes are 6 pm - 8 pm in the LCC Theater (except August 6th, 10 am-12 pm).

Reservations are required.  Please RSVP to lccstartsmart@gmail.com.  Include in your email: Student's name, school by name, ID number, and the name of the student's parent that will attend the class. You will receive confirmation of the class.  (Please don't send email from your school address - StartSmart is unable to access info)

Please note:  Students only need to take the Start Smart class one time in their high school career.
We will not be ticketing cars for the first 3 weeks of school.

Questions: Please contact Nancy Logan, San Dieguito Alliance, 760-310-5310
